How we keep Pancam safe
Meeting strangers on video only works if people feel safe doing it. Here is exactly what we do on our side, and what you can do on yours.
What we do
Automated detection
Accounts that collect multiple credible reports in a short window are automatically restricted pending human review, which catches patterns a single reporter would never see.
One-tap reporting
Every chat screen has a report button. Choose a category, add context, and it goes straight to the moderation queue with the session details attached.
Instant skip and block
You are never stuck in a conversation. One tap moves you to someone new, and blocking prevents that account from being matched with you again.
Priority escalation
Reports involving child safety, threats of violence, or non-consensual imagery jump the queue and are actioned ahead of everything else.
Video never touches our servers
Calls are peer-to-peer over WebRTC. Your video and audio flow directly between browsers — we do not record, store, transcribe or analyse them.
Minimal data, encrypted
We collect only what running the service requires. Passwords are bcrypt-hashed, everything in transit is TLS 1.2+, and you can delete your account and data at any time.
Child safety — zero tolerance
Pancam is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not permit minors on the platform under any circumstances, including with a parent's consent. Any account we believe belongs to a minor is terminated and its identifiers blocked from re-registration.
Content that sexualises or exploits a minor is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via its CyberTipline and, in India, to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal — and we cooperate fully with law enforcement.
To report a child safety concern, email safety@pancam.live. These reports are triaged within 24 hours.
What you can do
Most bad outcomes online come down to a handful of avoidable habits.
Never share personal or financial information
No full name, address, workplace, school, bank details, UPI ID, or one-time passwords. No legitimate person on a random chat needs any of it.
Be sceptical of anyone who moves fast
Requests to move to WhatsApp or Telegram within a minute, sudden declarations of affection, or a story that leads to a money request are the standard opening moves of a scam.
Never send money, gift cards or crypto
There is no legitimate reason for someone you just met on video chat to ask you for money. None. Report and skip.
Assume you can be recorded
Recording others without consent breaks our rules, but we cannot prevent someone pointing a phone at their screen. Do not do anything on camera you would not want saved.
Report rather than retaliate
If someone breaks the rules, report them and move on. Responding in kind can get you banned as well.
Be very careful about meeting in person
If you ever do, meet in a busy public place in daylight, tell someone where you are going, and arrange your own transport.
Check your own background before you start
Post, letters, a house number, a school uniform, or a window view can all identify where you live.
Trust the feeling that something is off
You do not owe a stranger politeness or an explanation. Skip.
Common questions about safety
Is random video chat safe?
It depends on both the platform and your habits. On our side: 24/7 report review, automatic restriction of repeatedly-reported accounts, one-tap skip and block, and zero tolerance for nudity or anything involving minors. On yours: never share personal or financial details, never send money, and skip anyone who makes you uncomfortable.
Does Pancam record my video calls?
No. Calls are peer-to-peer over WebRTC, so video and audio go directly between the two browsers and never pass through our servers. There is nothing for us to record.
What happens after I report someone?
The report enters our moderation queue with the session context attached. A moderator reviews it. Outcomes range from a warning to a permanent ban. Reports involving child safety, threats or non-consensual imagery are escalated ahead of everything else.
Can I use Pancam without giving my phone number?
Yes. Signup asks for an email address, a display name and a password. We never ask for a phone number or identity document.
Someone asked me for money. What should I do?
Do not send anything. Report them immediately and skip. Requests for money, gift cards or cryptocurrency from someone you just met on video chat are always a scam.
